State Per Diem that Remains Unchanged for 10 Years
MLTA continues to advocate for an increase in the Per Diem lodging rate for state employees. The longstanding rate continues to be $65 which when adjusted for inflation is just over $51. MLTA will be meeting with Department of Technology, Management & Budget staff to present a PowerPoint presentation outlining the problems caused by a Per diem that has not changed in over a decade.

Staff Changes
MLTA says good bye to Operations Coordinator Lindsay Weismiller who will be relocating to Farmington Hills to join her husband who recently graduated from Wayne State Medical School. Lindsay spearheaded many positive changes in our operations and helped grow the Pure Michigan Governor's Conference on Tourism to the premier event that it has become. Our best wishes to Lindsay, husband Mark and son Bryce!
Joining MLTA's staff is Kylie Binns, who left her position as Convention Services Manager for the 320 room Hyatt Lisle just outside of Chicago to join our staff. Kylie is a 2010 graduate of The School of Hospitality Business at MSU where she was on the Deans List for all eight semesters. Kylie brings unique training and experience to her new position and we look forward to working with her in service to our members and greater industry.
